QYO and Young Conservatorium Results

The Queensland Youth Orchestra results are in, and I’m pleased to announce that Brijette Tubb will continue as Principal Flute of QYO II.   Zoe Wright is joining QYO for the first time ever, as Principal Piccolo/Flute 3 of QYO III.  Zoe has also just been voted Music Captain at All Saints Anglican School on the Gold Coast.  Been a great year for Zoe, having also been awarded her AMusA diploma.

One of my former students, Tina Greenfield, has been successful in winning Principal Piccolo in QYO II.   Two of my chamber music students (Flutter Flute Quartet) have won places in the top orchestra, Queensland Youth Symphony: Latham Horn (Principal) and Emily Smith (2nd).  Nadia Myers is a former McGregor Summer School flute student of mine, and she will be Principal Piccolo in QYS.  Brijette Tubb will also be joining QYS to play the big alto flute parts in Daphnis and Chloe, as well as the Rite of Spring.  Going to be a very strong flute section!

Congratulations to all of my current and former students who have won places in QYO for 2011.

Some more great news that’s just come in is that Corinne Edgeworth has won Principal Piccolo of the Young Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra.   Great work Corinne!
